Governor NWFP takes Oath

 

  
1.         The Investiture Ceremony of Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani, the Governor NWFP as First Chief Scout FATA and Chief Scout NWFP was held in the mighty and majestic Jirga Hall of the Governor’s House, Peshawar at 1100 hours on 4th February 2010 in a befitting manner. Lt Gen Syed Parwez Shahid, HI (M), (Retd), Chief Commissioner, PBSA, administered the oath to the Governor and read out the everlasting message of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, delivered to the Scouts of Pakistan at the Investiture Ceremony of the Quaid as First Chief Scout Islamic Republic of Pakistan held at Karachi on 22nd December 1947.
 
2.         Later on, the honourable Governor / Chief Scout FATA administered oath to the members of Provincial Scout Council of FATA Boy Scouts Association. The honourable Governor was very kind and gracious. Keeping in line with the occasion and rich traditions of NWFP/FATA, he made the following announcements with regard to promotion of Scouting in FATA and NWFP BSA:-
 
a.    To Provide sponsorship to eligible scouts to attend World Scouts Jamboree in Sweden in 2011, Youth Forum at Brazil, World Rover Moot at Kenya and other international Scouting Events in the pipeline.
b.    Patronise promotion of Scouting and Empowerment of Youth in FATA BSA.
c.    Making available necessary infrastructure for promotion of Scouting in educational institutions of FATA and NWFP and providing a conducive environments / opportunity to the youth to participate in healthy Scouting activities / pursuits.
d.    Promotion of Scouting and establishment of Scouting camps in beautiful mountainous and scenic stations of NWFP and inviting the Scouts of other Provinces and Cities to NWFP to help promote National Integration, mutual love and understanding amongst the youth of the Country.
 
3.         The Investiture Ceremony was attended by a vast number of senior Govt officials, Scouts, Scout leaders. It was well conducted and culminated with a traditionally rich hospitality / refreshment at the Governor’s House.
